This design collects, in an abstract way, the sorrowful mysteries of the Holy Rosary that we pray on Tuesdays and Fridays. As in the rest of the designs in this line, we continue to maintain the yellow color representing Christ, the red color, his blood and the blue color for the Virgin Mary.

The five events that invite us to remember these mysteries are five of the key passages of the Passion of the Lord:

• The Prayer of Jesus in Getsemani, with the Lord praying on his knees in one of the toughest moments of his life on earth.
• The Flagellation of our Lord Jesus Christ, where He, being the Lord, suffers the cruelty of the Roman soldiers with Him and reminds us of the evil that continues to exist in the world today.
• The crowning with thorns, presenting in the design such crown made of thorns on the top of the heart of Jesus.
• Jesus carrying the cross on his way to Calvary.
• The crucifixion and death of Jesus, on Calvary in the presence of his Mother.
