They did not abandon the Lord.
This design aims to highlight the courage of the women that followed Jesus within a society where women were overshadowed. Actually, the design includes four women that had an especial relationship with Jesus Christ, as encourtering Him changed their lives.
On one hand, there are Martha and Mary, the two sisters that lived in Bethany with their brother Lazarus. They lived intensively the friendship with Jesus at their home and also witnessed the glory of God when Jesus brought back to live to Lazarus (Jn 11, 41-44).
On the other hand, Mary Magdalene, whose encounter with Christ deeply transformed her life. Her faithfulness on Jesus move her not only to acommpany the Lord to the cross but also, once death, to go early to embalm his body following the hebrew traditions. Jesus Christ not only transforms Mary in life, but also, she is the first one to experience Jesus under his glorified body. (Mt 28, 8-10)
Finally, the design also includes Veronica, the woman that wiped out Jesus face when he was in the middle of its Passion. This anonymous wife was able to open a path among the crowd that was rebuking Christ. She encouraged herself and was able to be close to the Lord when all the disciples have abandoned him. She got close to Jesus, and He, even in the biterness of this moment, was able to gift her his face printed in her scarf.
These four women are those that were able to see closer the glory of God in life, apart from his mother the Virgin Mary. These four women can be seen as potential ways on how catholics are able to get closer to the Lord and be witnesses of its glory in our own lifes.
This design also remember us that God leaves no one indifferent when meets us in our live and touch our heart. Enjoy this design in our online store, select a colour… and show it off!
